1. Can you introduce yourself and God Sent?
My name is Ethan Lartey and I am the Founder & CEO of GODSENT. I’m currently based in Northern Virginia running my business while in school, GODSENT specializes in unique designs and helping others strive to be better day to day through daily devotions. I am a motivated entrepreneur, student-athlete, and humanitarian. I control all aspects of operation in my own clothing company that is making noise amongst the DC metro area for its poise, unique designs, and activist motivations.
2. How was God Sent born? How did you start?
GODSENT was born after a freak accident that almost took my life at 17 years old. I got in a bad accident on January 4th, 2020. I almost lost my life due to me falling 3 stories out my window, breaking the glass and falling onto the concrete. I truly thank the one and only GOD that I am still here today blessed, striving to be better everyday. I’ve always wanted to start a clothing brand since I was younger, I played a lot of Call of Duty & I was a graphic designer for the team I was in, so my love for designing has always been there from a young age. I’m inspired by other brands like Fear of GOD & Rhude but GODSENT is more than a brand. It’s a movement, for people who are simply GODSENT. GODSENT was established in 2020 by me in my hotel room just thinking about everything GOD has done for my family & I. I have a story to tell, and this is one of the ways I plan on telling that story.
3. What makes God Sent different? Can you explain your products with details?
What makes GODSENT different is not just the story / foundation, but the designs on our garments that tell a story in itself. My very first design that was printed on hoodies has a quote on the back that says “Pain is temporary, victory is forever”. When I made that design, I was in the most pain physically I’ve ever felt. I couldn’t walk & everyday was a different battle. But I knew it was just temporary & this pain I was in wouldn’t last & when I got back on my feet, it was go-time.
4. What reactions do you get from your clients? Do they love your products?
The reactions I get from my clients / customers are what makes me love doing this. It’s a beautiful thing when you envision a concept / piece in your head, you do it to simply do it and then to have other people like it as well is an awesome feeling. I test every product / design before it’s released on different colors & garments, I make sure that is the best quality possible for my customers. I also hand write notes with every order with a little testament of motivation to the customer for whatever they’re doing in their life, to simply keep going & grinding. I’ve only been doing this for a year now & I haven’t got one single complaint from a customer. It’s truly a blessing to be where I’m at already.
5. What are the advantages of God Sent?
We ship worldwide and do giveaways on our products. The reason why I started this whole thing was to inspire, so if I did that, I did my job. That is the biggest advantage GODSENT has.
