1. Can you introduce yourself and Homeschool Style Company?
My name is Sara and my husband Josh and I are the team behind Homeschool Style Co. We are unlikely homeschoolers (never dreamed this would be part of our journey!), but now wouldn’t trade it for the world. We have 4 kids (2 boys and twin daughters) that give us grace each day as we learn together.
Homeschool Style Co. was born from a love of homeschooling and from a love of easy, comfy clothing and accessories! When homeschooling, I live in cozy t-shirts and jeans during the day, and wanted to create some fun apparel for our homeschooling community. I also blog over at Blessed Homeschool where I share tips, encouragement and more for homeschool moms like me.
2. How was Homeschool Style Company born? How did you start?
I sold a previous e-commerce business in 2019 that I had owned and run for about 5 years. I had just had a new baby and was definitely feeling overwhelmed as a solo-preneuer, trying to work and homeschool my kids at the same time. However, it wasn’t until a few months later that I got the bug again, and my husband and I began brainstorming ideas and plans for a new online shop. We decided to change the model slightly from the last business so it was more manageable for our current season, and because we are living the homeschool lifestyle right now, this business was a natural progression for us.
3. What makes Homeschool Style Company different? Can you explain your products with details?
We are a one-stop shop for unique homeschool clothing, mugs, and more. We offer the widest variety of designs and color options for our comfy tees, so most people are able to find something that suits their style! I love wearing one of our t-shirts when I’m out with my kids and the conversations that sometimes come because of it – people either wanting to learn about homeschooling, or fellow homeschool families we connect with.
I also often take custom requests for designs if someone wants something I don’t currently offer, or if they would like a design changed slightly. It’s important to me that customers love the products they purchase.
4. What reactions do you get from your clients? Do they love your products?
My customers are the best – I love seeing pictures from them enjoying their gear on social media, and it’s such a fun product they enjoy giving as gifts to encourage other homeschool mamas.
Customer service is also so important to me. Being present on social media and being willing to take care of any issues that arise with orders is incredibly important for a brand. I’m not always perfect, but I really try to give a good all-around experience to my customers!
