1. Can you introduce yourself and Seeker Earth?
Hi – My name is Ally Ferguson and I am the Founder of Seeker which is a Organic Hemp Unisex Clothing Collection Made in Los Angeles, Ca. I was inspired to create Seeker after my journey to India. I had realized in that particular trip that the earth is getting warmer and I must do something with my abilities to help reverse that trend. The outcome was two fold because I wanted to offer garments that gave back to the earth made of Hemp which uses 50% less water and reduces Carbon emissions. Secondly, to offer garments all humans can enjoy that will keep you cool in the sun and warm through the evening.
2. How was Seeker Earth born? How did you start?
Seeker was born out of necesity in my experience because I was having difficulties finding Unisex clothing in the fashion market that was thoughtfully made. I have a background in building local brands and fashion production in LA. So, I put my expertise to the test and finally bet on myself that I could make a brand that not only looks good but feels good when you purchase it as well.
3. What makes Seeker Earth different? Can you explain your products with details?
For starters Seeker is different from many brands because we are 100% owned and founded by a Female LGBTQ President who aims to create Gender Inclusive clothing for the intentional being. We are part of the “Slow Fashion” movement which circles around the philosophy that you should buy quality items and in turn need to purchase less because they last longer. Our products are all designed in Unisex fashion for both genders to participate in equally. Many of the styles you will see inspiration derived from traditional cultural wares with an updated fabric & silhouette.
4. What reactions do you get from your clients? Do they love your products?
Our clients call themselves loyalists because many have been supporting our small business from the very beginning. Those who are newcomers have still found us where we are small enough to keep it personal and we love connecting over their experience. Clients often send emails about how special they feel having one of our garments because we only produce small batch items often making them one of a kind. I think clients & the creators all feel loved 🙂
5. What are the advantages of Seeker Earth?
The advantages of Seeker are that we are one of the early adopters of bringing Hemp Fabric into Unisex High Fashion. Additionally, we produce locally in Los Angeles CA so we are able to stay nimble with a small team and produce as needed and not carry too much inventory.
