1. Can you introduce yourself and Single Handed Products?
Hey there, my name is Robert Simpson founder of Single Handed and inventor of our flagship product – the Tipsi Tray.
2. How was Single Handed Products born? How did you start?
My late grandfather used a Tipsi Tray type product around the house for years and it helped him enormously. After finding out that he and a friend had made the device I knew I had to bring it to market with an updated and contemporary design.
Single Handed launched on Kickstarter mid 2020 with the Tipsi Tray, This allowed us to fund the production and development of further helpful products.
3. What makes Single Handed Products different? Can you explain your products with details?
Single Handed products are all designed to make life a little easier. Our products are particularly useful for older people or those with balance or upper limb difficulties. We bring contemporary design to a marketplace usually packed with grey dull products.
Our first and most popular product – Tipsi Tray is a single handed carry tray which allows the user to carry food and drinks with a single hand. This allows them to open doors, hold a bannister on stairs and more easily see foot placement when moving. Overall a safer and more practical solution to the traditional 2 handed serving tray.
4. What reactions do you get from your clients? Do they love your products?
Feedback for Tipsi Tray has been hugely positive. The difference it is making to people’s lives in ways we couldn’t have foreseen is fantastic. Some of the best feedback has come from customers with difficulties with balance who now have a spare hand to steady themselves and grip bannisters on stairs. One customer now glides through his workplace and the 4 key code doors on the way to the kitchen. It really is heartwarming creating a product which helps people in such a big way.
5. What are the advantages of Single Handed Products?
All of our products are designed to make life a little easier. They are all designed with functionality as the most important factor. After this, form.
