1. Can you introduce yourself and Supernature?

My name is Noele McEvoy and I started making healthy chocolate snacks when my daughter was put on a strict diet due to severe eczema. She had to give up all dairy, gluten and refined sugar and I didn’t want her to have to miss out or feel uncomfortable at sleepovers, birthday parties and movie nights. So, I began to make sweets that she could have and share with her friends. Before Iong her friends were asking her to bring her “mom’s sweets” to school. When Laura went to college I decided to try start a business. With my husband Brendan and our friend Simon who really is Willy Wonka, we created the supernature range. My dream is to have supernature available in store for anyone who loves chocolate but needs or wants a healthy option.

2. How was Supernature born? How did you start?

The three of us spent a lot of time creating recipes and having lots of tasting sessions. We wanted to use only real food ingredients and no emulsifiers or processing aids. It was really important that what it said on the front of the pack was exactly what it said on the back. It was important to us to be a brand people can trust. We picked 4 products we wanted to make and then Simon designed the process and machinery and the journey began.

3. What makes Supernature different? Can you explain your products with details?

Our entire range is made using only 7 organic ingredients, peanuts, hazelnuts, raisins, cacao butter, cacao powder, coconut sugar and raspberries. We don’t use any emulsifiers or processing aids which makes our process very innovative. All of our ingredients are ‘grown in the ground and not in the lab’. We make peanut butter cups, hazelnut clusters, chocolate coated hazelnuts and raspberry chocolate raisins. All our products are vegan, dairy free, gluten free and organic.

4. What reactions do you get from your clients? Do they love your products?

I get so excited at shows and in-store samplings watching people try our range. They are always so shocked that they only contain 4 ingredients and no refined sugar. We have lots of customers with food intolerances or those trying to have a healthier lifestyle and fitness regime who are so grateful to have found a snack they love that they can eat and have in their bag when they feel like some healthy indulgence.

5. What are the advantages of Supernature?

You can get your chocolate hit without any of the nasties. No palm oil, no refined sugars, no cane sugar, no sugar alcohols, no dairy, no gluten, no emulsifiers, no soy lecithin. We all love chocolate but it can be hard to find indulgent snacks that are healthy too. That is our advantage. Supernature, delicious chocolate snacks made from nature, that’s all.
