1. Can you introduce yourself and The Bigger O?

Hi, I’m Dina, the owner of The Bigger O. I was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. I’m a wife and mother of two. The Bigger O is a feminist sexual wellness shop I wish always existed when I needed a place for all things pleasure. We have a range of beautifully designed sex toys made from body-safe materials. 2. How was The Bigger O born? How did you start?

For the last couple of years, I’ve wanted to start my own store, any store actually, because I have a good business sense and have done pretty well running my yoga studio in the past. What took me a while to get started was finding something I could be passionate about.
In 2020, I was placed on furlough from my flight attendant career of 15 years due to the pandemic. I had time on my hands and the motivation to create something new. The idea of starting a sex shop kind of just fell into my lap as I was brainstorming with my husband. At first, I was skeptical because I grew up in a very traditional family and I still have that primal reaction of what will my parents think, will I offend anyone?
That was my initial resistance but the idea was set in my head, but most importantly my heart, and I knew I had to run with it. I am very passionate about everything related to The Bigger O. From the desire to succeed to the desire to meet amazing people from different corners making sexual pleasure less taboo, allowing me to be me, and encouraging others to do the same.

3. What makes The Bigger O different? Can you explain your products with details?

The Bigger O is more than the euphemism “the Big O”. It’s not about achieving a bigger orgasm. The Bigger O is all of the different ways we can honor, enjoy, and enhance our pleasure. Having these open conversations and un-learning toxic taboos is very important at The Bigger O and that is why we have an online magazine that will continue to grow with inspiring information.

4. What reactions do you get from your clients? Do they love your products?

Our customers LOVE our products. We are still new and are already getting amazing feedback from our customers. We are also getting tagged and mentioned on our customers’ Instagram posts raving about and showcasing their new toys.
We love interacting with our customers on Instagram. It’s so much fun connecting with everyone. This sense of community is important to us and we love receiving questions asking us for help in choosing the right toy for that moment in time whether it’s for the customer’s personal use or if they are looking for a gift for someone special.

5. What are the advantages of The Bigger O?

We are a small woman-owned business. People really trust us due to our empathy and zero judgment. We are inclusive to everyone with zero judgment. At The Bigger O we are ready to educate people in a kind and polite way. It’s a huge responsibility to take part in educating people and we take it seriously. We have a fantastic selection for many tastes and we keep researching and educating ourselves on new products before introducing them to our customers. Customers love to see new additions come in regularly. They also appreciate our discrete handling and packaging.
