1. Can you introduce yourself and Veron?
I’m Shera Fournier the creator and founder of Verón, a Los Angeles-based vegan macaron company. We ship these handcrafted treats all over the U.S. year-round.
2. How was Veron born? How did you start?
As a lifelong vegetarian it was difficult growing up to find some of my favorite treats especially when I went vegan in my teens. I came up with the idea of vegan macarons when I wanted to indulge in some but was unable to find vegan ones. I started my recipe using a traditional macaron recipe swapping out the eggs for a vegan replacement. From there I tested out the recipe and improved it for over ten years. I finally launched Verón in September 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, I was ready and didn’t want to put off my dream of sharing these treats with the world.
3. What makes Veron different? Can you explain your products with details?
Besides the fact that we are vegan, all of our products are also free of Palm oil, gluten, soy and artificial colors and flavors. We offer 12 flavors: Blueberry, Chocolate, Earl Grey, Lavender, Lemon, Matcha, Mocha, Orange, Pistachio, Raspberry, Rose and Vanilla. They come in various mixed packs of boxes of 6 or 12 on our website and we do special flavors each month and for holidays. We also offer custom designs for parties and events.
4. What reactions do you get from your clients? Do they love your products?
My customers give us so much love! We’ve received messages from numerous customers who have never had macarons, some who are newly vegan and haven’t been able to find them anywhere, and many who told us they ate the entire box in one sitting. The word “delicious” is often used to describe them so I’d say they love our products.
5. What are the advantages of Veron?
When you shop Verón to indulge you are putting something in your body as a treat that is sourced with quality ingredients. We use whole-food ingredients to ensure maximum quality with minimal environmental consequences – because living consciously should still include a little elegance.
